I’m really excited to announce that Adrian McEwen, a thought leader in the internet of things and a long term collaborator is joining Good Night Lamp as Chief Technology Officer.
Adrian McEwen has been connecting devices to the Internet since the mid-90s. After starting with cash registers he joined startup STNC who built the first web browser on a mobile phone. In addition to technical work on the TCP/IP networking stack he played a major part in the growth of the company and was Software Manager when the company was acquired by Microsoft. He left Microsoft’s Mobile Devices Division in 2002 to start his own company and has continued to focus on Internet technology – developing a few server-side projects alongside work for set-top box companies and mobile phone manufacturers such as Motorola. Since 2008 he’s been working with Arduino in what has become the Internet of Things, and is in charge of the Arduino Ethernet library. Alongside work, he’s currently condensing what he’s learnt about connected devices into “Designing the Internet of Things”, a book to be published by Wiley UK in early 2013.
Adrian will really help the Good Night Lamp use the best technology both from the hardware and software side and build a strong team that can grow as we need it. This is going to be exciting.
